Understanding Pay-Per-View on BIX (For Brands)

Pay-Per-View is an optional pricing model that allows brands to reward creators based on the actual number of views their sponsored content generates.

What is Pay-Per-View? Pay-Per-View is a performance-based pricing model that helps brands maximize the value of their influencer partnerships. Instead of paying a fixed fee upfront, you reward creators based on the actual number of views their sponsored content generates — making every dollar more accountable to results.

When selecting a service, you can choose between a traditional One-Time flat fee or the Pay-Per-View option, which automatically adjusts the total service price by 35% to enable performance-based compensation.

How It Works

  1. Upfront Payment: When you select Pay-Per-View, 20% of the total payment is released to the creator upfront to secure the collaboration.
  2. CPM-Based Payouts: The remaining 80% is held and distributed based on actual performance, using a $10-$20 CPM (Cost Per Thousand Views/Impressions). The creator earns based on how many views their sponsored post generates over 30 days.
  3. Automated View Tracking: BIX tracks the views or impressions on the sponsored post in real time, ensuring transparent and accurate reporting.
  4. Payout Adjustments: If the content reaches the target view count, the creator earns the full balance. If it falls short, you only pay for the actual views delivered — no overpaying for underperformance. Any remaining balance will be refunded back to your credit card.

Example

Suppose you purchase an Instagram Reel service priced at $500.

  • If you select Pay-Per-View, the service price becomes $675 (a 35% adjustment for performance-based payment).
  • $135 (20% of $675) is paid upfront to the creator to begin production.
  • The remaining $540 (which is $675 minus the $135 upfront you already paid) is paid out at a rate of $20 per 1,000 views.
  • To trigger the full payout, the post would need 27,000 views ($540 ÷ $20 × 1,000 views).
  • If the post only generates 15,000 views, you would pay $300 instead of the full $540 — meaning your total spend would adjust accordingly. You would be refunded $240 since the creator did not achieve the required views.

Why Choose Pay-Per-View?

  • Pay for Performance: You only pay in full if the creator’s content actually delivers the viewership you expect.
  • Lower Risk, Higher ROI: Instead of committing fully upfront, you tie the majority of your payment to measurable results.
  • Real-Time Transparency: BIX provides automated tracking, so you always know how the campaign is performing.
  • Flexible Spending: Whether the post exceeds or falls short of expectations, your investment scales accordingly.
